It's Bill-Paying-Time again and we're presently operating on borrowed money. Please note that the deadline is June 30, 2004.
We are asking you to do your very best to pay as soon as you can. In full, or by payments, so that we can keep paying our most urgent bills.
Those of you who have outstanding bills will be contacted soon. We are asking you to please make arrangements to settle your account. We're sure some arrangement can be worked out between us. We need to hear from you. The Town Office is offering you a more private and confidential setting to do your business.
- Water Extension to Marches Point
Written approval has not yet been received for the $148,000.00 requested to do the work. Residents will be informed as soon as we receive approval. Request for water hook-ups will be dealth with come Spring! Please note that request for water shut-offs and turn-ons are presently done free of charge.
- Garbage
For the present, the fees will remain as passed in the Budget of December 22, 2003. The dump site is in need of a major clean-up in order to meet the requirements of the Dept. of Environment.
A regional approach could be the answer i.e. have our garbage trucked to the West Bay Site and close our dump site. However, we'll keep you informed and asking for your input before any change is made.

Meetings are held every Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.
- Ambulance Service
The Ambulance Committee is looking to recruit more drivers and attendants. Training for EMR I and EMR II levels required are usually held in Stephenville. Also note, that after training, when you're on a 24 hr On-Call-Duty, drivers and attendants are paid a renumeration of $40-$60. All the above expenses are paid by funding received from Government through the Department of Health. A real plus for our Town.
- Sports and Recreation.
A Sports and Recreation Committee is being formed so we can apply for more summer projects to try to give employment to more students. Anyone interested in serving on this committee? We need at least 5 (or more) people. Young adults will be very welcomed. The Deadline date for the applications is March 26, 2004. Canada Day Application for funding is March 31, 2004. A Rush is on! Regular council meetings are now held twice a month:
- the 2nd Monday at 3:00 p.m.
- the 4"' Monday at 7:00 p.m.
